Division
This term we are learning about division. Did you know that if you know your times tables you already know your division.
The equation 3 x 2 means 3 groups of 2. So if we skip count that 2,4,6 so 3x 2 = 6.
So what does 6/2= mean? It means you start with 6 and need to find out how many times the number 2 goes into 6. So if I skip count backwards in twos it sounds like this 6,4,2 so I have gone backwards in twos 3 times. 6/2 = 3.
What do you notice about 3 x 2 =6 and 6/2 = 3?
Write your ideas in your math book.
